Welcome

Blueskies gundogs are a small family affair in South Devon, near kingsbridge. Our dogs live in the house as family pets. We have had 8 generations of German Shorthaired Pointers and 6 generations of Hungarian Vizslas. They all have clear eye certificates and are hip and elbow scored. Our breeding coefficients [a measure of how inbred] are low. All of our dogs have been worked and have excellent natural ability in the shooting field. This in turn should make them very trainable. Both working and showing strains have been incorporated into our bloodlines. Our dogs are  tremendously loyal and they live to please us. They love our 4 children and their company is hugely rewarding. Our puppies are carefully reared and well handled by all family members. They are keen to go running with the younger family members. I have a breeders licence from the South Hams District Council, SHAL0070.

Outstanding Pedigree

We supply a 40 page booklet containing a puppy weight chart, registrations, photographs, parents health certification, individual pedigrees, feeding advice, and other information. Our puppies are all endorsed as progeny not eligible for registration, so they can not be bred from.

Great care is taken in the selection of suitable sires both for temperament, health looks and pedigree. You will see many champions in our bloodlines. We are aiming for healthy outcross breeding to ensure hybrid vigor.

Our aim is to produce dual purpose dogs bred for intelligence and temperament as well as beauty and stamina.

They are wormed regularly. They will have their dew claws removed but will not be docked.

The puppies will all be KC registered and will leave unvaccinated, with 5 weeks free KC insurance.

Happy, Healthy and Social

We live in the Devon countryside and are surrounded by fields and woods. Our dogs regularly swim in the sea -  as well as beside canoes, in rivers. The dogs are socialised with our cats, sheep, alpacas and horses.

As active and highly intelligent breeds it is important  that the puppies new homes will provide the right environment to bring out the best in these wonderful dogs.

Puppy socialisation sessions at local vets, followed by juvenile then young dog training classes are essential.

We have a litter of both breeds approximately once a year, please contact us if you feel that these are the dogs for you.
